EPSON Demo-Mode (CENSIMENTO)

Introduction

The CENSIMENTO procedure is required to put Epson RT printers into Demo Mode. This mode is ideal for development and testing purposes as it prevents the creation of real invoices and clearly marks documents as test documents.

Do You Want to Put Your Epson RT into Demo Mode?

1. Contact Us:
   • By Email or through our Support.
   • Provide us with multiple available time slots (Timeslots) during which the procedure can be performed.
2. Scheduling an Appointment:
   • We will contact Epson and respond to you based on your available time slots to arrange a suitable appointment.

Prerequisites

Before the CENSIMENTO procedure can be performed, the following points must be checked:

• Printer Model and Firmware Version:

  • 99IEB/IEC: Firmware version ≥ 9.00 with Build 356
  • 99MEX/MEY: Firmware version ≥ 11.04 with Build 261

• Ensure that the network connection is stable. Perform tests on the printer that must be successfully completed ("All ok!").
• The certificate must be up to date.

• Install one of the following programs:

  • AnyDesk
  • TeamViewer
  • Windows Quick Assist

Keep the IP address or remote access credentials ready for access.

Instructions

1. Firmware Verification and Update:
   • Ensure that your printer model has the required minimum firmware version (see prerequisites).
2. Network Connection:
   • Enter 3333 + CHIAVE + 20 on the keyboard. The printer will then perform tests that must all be successfully completed ("All ok!").

3. Certificate Update:

   • Navigate to "STATO REGISTRAZIONE" on the printer display.
   • Enter the following code: 3333 + CHIAVE + 36
   • Press the "CONTANTE" button.
   • Enter the corresponding code for your printer serial number:
     • 99MEX: 885312
     • 99MEY: 894488
     • 99IEB: 188210
     • 99IEC: 995679
   • Press the "G" button.
   • Check if the download was successful.
4. Waiting for the Technician
   • We will contact you to perform the CENSIMENTO procedure with an Epson service technician via remote access.
5. Activate Demo Mode

   • After completing the CENSIMENTO procedure, you need to put the printer into Demo Mode to perform tests.

     • Execute the command 2222 + CHIAVE + 01.
     • Enter 3333 + CHIAVE + 14 and enter 63 to set the DEMO flag.
     • Change the value to 1 using the X button.
     • Press CONTANTE + CHIAVE.

• Notes on Demo Mode:
  • Invoices cannot be issued.
  • The printer never enters the "Inactive Period" state.
  • Documents are rendered unusable by replacing all spaces with „?“ and adding two fixed lines at the beginning of the document.

• • In Demo Mode, no logo is inserted before the control number.
  • The changes also apply to PDF documents created by the E-Receipt service (also works in RT DEMO Mode).
