The Company Identification is primarily used to establish the cloud connection of the fiscal client (InitializeClientByCloud). In some countries, however, the Company Identifier is also used for documentation purposes under fiscal law and must be specified as mandatory.

Tips & Best Practice
When using Fiscal Middleware, or other RetailForce services, in several countries, the same company identifier can always be used by default to establish the connection between (Fiscal) Client and RetailForce Cloud, e.g. always the VAT ID within the European Union.
However, at least one of the characters required in the respective country must also be stored in the Cloud, as well as in the client (e.g. SIREN + NAF in France; CVR in Denmark).
Austria
Within the framework of the Cash Register Security Ordinance (RKSV), the order criteria listed above are used for cash register notifications to FinanzOnline (start-up notification of cash registers, signature or seal creation unit, document checks, decommissioning notification).
- UID: VAT-ID ("Umsatzsteuer-Identifikationsnummer")
- St.-Nr.: Tax account number, also called tax number ("Abgabenkontonummer, resp. Finanzamt-Steuernummer")
- GLN: Global Location Number
If you obtain the signature or seal creation unit via RetailForce, this is done automatically.

- ÖNACE: ÖNACE is the Austrian classification of economic activities. This classification (grouping) enables the presentation of information in a clear and summarised form (economic branches, economic sectors) and primarily serves statistical purposes. (Source: USP.AT)

Bulgaria
- DDS (Dank dobawena stoinost); [ДДС- данък добавена стойност]: VAT identification number for Bulgaria.
- TIN (Tax Identification Number); [Данъчен номер]: Company tax identification number in Bulgaria. In Bulgaria, the tax number (TaxNumber) and the Business Identification Number are identical. It is also called BULSTAT (Булстат) https://www.bulstat.bg/.
- CID (Classification of economic activities); [Класификация на икономическите дейности / КИД].
Croatia
- PDV identifikacijski broj: VAT identification number in Croatia.

Denmark
- CVR-number: Registration number of the company in the Central Business Register (Det Centrale Virksomhedsregister - CVR).

France
Currently, company identifiers are not used for active reporting to the tax authorities. However, all fiscal documents issued by the company must contain information on the company (name, address, VAT ID, SIRET number, NAF code, RCS and RCS-office).
- SIREN: Système d'identification du répertoire des entreprises (abbreviation: SIREN, Engl.: Identification system of the business register) is the name for the company code in France including overseas territories and is used for the unique identification of companies and institutions. - Code NAF / Code APE: Nomenclature des Activités Français, are defined by INSSEE; formerly: Activité Principale Exercée - Code APE. This code, consisting of 4 digits and one letter, is mainly used for statistical purposes. It identifies the main field of activity of the enterprise or self-employed person. - RCS: Registre du Commerce et des Sociétés, French Commercial Register. All traders and legal entities must be registered in the Commercial Register. The RCS is divided into four sections:
- RSC A (R.C.S. A): natural persons, provided they are merchants and carry on a trade.
- RCS B (R.C.S. B): commercial enterprises
- RCS C (R.C.S. C): Economic Interest Groupings (GIE) - (Groupements d'Intérêt Economique - GIE).
- RCS D (R.C.S. D): Civil societies
- RCS-office: Ville du greffe d'immatriculation, city of the registration office - competent commercial register office
- RM-number: Trade register number used for handicraft enterprises with less than 10 employees
Other, non-mandatory company identifiers:
- ID. TVA: TVA intracommunautaire, VAT number / VAT-ID.
Germany
In Germany, the company mark is used as a classification criterion for the registration (notification) of the cash register as well as the certified technical security device at the respective tax office. Currently, these notifications are suspended until presumably 2023.
According to the application decree (p. 18), the classification criteria shown in the matrix above are permissible for reporting.
- StNr.: Company tax number ("Steuernummer") [field in DSFinV-K: STNR]
- USt-IdNr.: Value added tax identification number ("Umsatzsteuer-Identifikationsnummer") (§ 27a UStG) - [field in DSFinV-K: USTID].
- W-IdNr.: Business identification number ("Wirtschafts-Identifikationsnummer") (§ 139c AO) - [Field in DSFinV-K: not yet provided].

Cash registers in Lithuania must be registered online in the i.EKA system.
- PVM: VAT identification number in Lithuania
- Company Code: Lithuanian unique company ID (Company code or legal entity code ( Įm/k) - an organisation's identification number consisting of 7 or 9 digits, used to provide information about the organization, conclude transactions; a special code given to a registered entity. The company code must be printed in the official documents of the legal entity).
Poland
- NIP (Numer Identyfikacji Podatkowej): Tax identification number in Poland, this is also the VAT identification number at the same time.
Romania
- CIF (Cod de identificare fiscală): VAT identification number in Romania.
Slovenia
- DDV (Davek na dodano vrednost): VAT identification number in Slovenia.
- Matična številka: Personal identification number
Spain
- Número IVA (Impuesto sobre el valor añadido): VAT identification number in Spain.
- NIF (Número de Identificación Fiscal): personal tax number. For Spanish nationals, this is the same as the identity card number (DNI). Foreigners must first apply for an NIE (Número de Identidad de Extranjero = "Foreigner Identification Number") and then an NIF.
Sweden
- Organisationsnummer: The organisation number ("Organisationsnummer") is an identity marker for companies and associations in Sweden (10-digits, format: 123456-1234 - Entry in RetailForce Portal, without hyphen)
ATTENTION: the Swedish organisation number has 10 digits and is based on the Luhn Algorithm. When creating test systems, use a Luhn algorithm calculator. - MomsNr. (Momsregistreringsnummer) also "Registreringsnummer för mervädesskarr (Momsnummer)": VAT identification number in Sweden (format: country code + 12 digits "SE123456789012").
