To simplify the assignment of configuration objects, it is possible to define a so-called "master organisation".
This master organisation can be a client organisation itself, or a separate entity that is not assigned to a real client.
It is usually only used to distribute configurations across multiple client organisations.
Requirement
If a configuration object is created within an organisation, it can only be assigned to entities that are themselves part of this organisation. This means subsidiaries (company), stores and cash registers (terminal) below the respective organisation.
To make configurations available to other (customer) organisations, a master organisation can be defined at distributor level.
Prerequisites
- Access to the RetailForce Portal at "Distributor" level (only Distributors can define a Master Organisation for "their" organisations).
- Knowledge of how to create the organisation structure in the RetailForce Portal.
Procedure
To define a Master Organisation, proceed as follows:
- Create a new organisation (name arbitrary, e.g. "Master organisation <CashRegisterManufacturerName>"..
- After the organisation has been created, open the properties (click on "Details" in the action menu) and
- copy the LicenseConsumerId (ID of the organisation).
You will find these in the upper, left-hand area of the screen: - Now go to the "Distributor" level (main menu on the left),
- select your distributor,
- open the properties (click on "Details" in the action menu),
- edit the properties (click on "Edit" in the action menu),
- enter the LicenseConsumerId of the Master Organization in the "Master Organization" field,
- and save the change (click on "Save" in the action menu).
Configuration objects that you now create below this (master) organisation are available within all (customer) organisations that belong to the corresponding distributor and can be assigned there accordingly.
