As with test systems, the Lithuanian tax authority also uses self-signed digital certificates for communication with the i.EKA production system, rather than certificates issued by a trusted authority (eIDAS Trust Centre).
This is problematic because operating systems do not recognise these certificates as trustworthy.
To resolve this, the i.EKA root certificate must be added to the Windows certificate store as a trusted certificate.
Note: For Linux systems, the i.EKA root certificate is supplied directly with in the RetailForce Docker container. No further steps are required for systems using the fiscalisation service via Docker container.
Certificate Installation
You can obtain the i.EKA root certificate from your Lithuanian service company. We are also happy to provide this to you.
Once you have received the certificate, copy it to the cash register PC or to the environment on which the RetailForce fiscalisation service is installed and follow the steps below.
| 1. Double-click the certificate file to open it. | |
| 2. Confirm the security warning ("Do you want to open this file?") by clicking 'Open'; the certificate will then open. | |
| 3. On the 'General' tab, click 'Install certificate…' | |
| 4. To avoid any authorisation issues, select 'Local computer' as the storage location and click 'Next'. Confirm the subsequent message (User Account Control) by clicking 'Yes'. | |
| 5. In the next step, you must define the actual storage location. Change the setting to 'Store all certificates in the following location' and click 'Browse'. | |
| 6. In the certificate store selection, select the 'Trusted Root Certification Authorities' folder and click 'OK'. | |
| 7. Confirm your selection by clicking 'Next' and | |
| 8. click 'Finish' to confirm the entry. | |
| 9. You should now see a confirmation that the certificate has been successfully imported, which you can confirm by clicking 'OK'. | |
| 10. You can also close the certificate window by clicking 'OK'. |
Once you have completed all the steps, the i.EKA root certificate is installed on the till computer and can be used by the RetailForce service.
