In connection with the requirements for digital sales registration systems ("digital salgsregistrering") in Denmark, cash register operators must obtain an OCES certificate - more precisely an OCES3 certificate. This certificate is used to
- sign each cash register transaction as well as
- the SAF-T export (.xml file).
The responsibility for acquiring an OCES certificate lies with the taxable person ("cash register operator"). However, an amendment to Section 63 of the Danish VAT Ordinance means that a certificate from the supplier of the POS system can also be used for signing.
Preparation for signature
In order to be able to carry out the necessary signatures via the RetailForce system, either the customer (cash register operator) or the manufacturer / supplier of the cash register system must acquire an OCES3 certificate from an authorised body (CA - Certificate Authority). You can find more information on this on the MitID-Erhverv website.
The certificate must then be uploaded to the RetailForce portal. You can find instructions on how to do this in the article "Upload fiscalisation certificates".
Company certificate
If a certificate has been issued for each customer (cash register operator), the respective certificate must be uploaded to the corresponding organisation (or company in the case of daughter companies) in the portal. The cash registers of the corresponding organisation/company are issued with the corresponding certificate during activation/initialisation.
Master certificate
If you want to use your own certificate for all your customers as a cash register manufacturer/distributor, the certificate must be stored at your company ("Distributor" level). During activation / initialisation, all cash registers of all organisations / companies assigned to you are provided with the same certificate.
