Electronic certificates are used to transmit documents (invoices) to the VERI*FACTU system of the Spanish "State Tax Administration Agency" (AEAT - "Agencia Estatal de Administración Tributaria").

The following certificates are accepted and can be used.

• "Natural Person Certificate" or "Freelance Certificate")
• "Legal Entity Representative Certificate"
• "Company Seal Certificate" ("tipo 8 en @firma")

Intended use

The selection of the appropriate certificate depends on the intended use.

Certificates for natural persons

Certificates for natural persons and representatives are linked to a specific individual (natural person). When using the certificate, for example to transfer data to the VERI*FACTU web service, a (deliberate) action by the respective person is required, i.e. confirmation by the certificate owner.

Company certificates

Unlike certificates for natural persons, company certificates are suitable for autonomous use. This means that they can be used without the certificate holder having to confirm individual actions.

Obtaining certificates

Electronic certificates can be requested from any official Spanish certification authority.

Using certificates

If the company in question has an electronic certificate, it must be uploaded to the RetailForce portal in order to be used.

• .p12

Test certificates

Test certificates for VERI*FACTU can be requested directly from the AEAT. We will be happy to send you the relevant application form on request (email office (at) retailforce.cloud or your direct contact person). You can also obtain the certificate on request from catentidades (at) correo.aeat.es. The completed form must also be sent to this address.

You will then receive the certificate, including the certificate password, by email.

Test organisation / Test company

When creating a test organisation or a test company for Spain (VERI*FACTU) on the RetailForce Portal, please make sure that the TaxNumber (Company identification) matches the (test) NIF for which the test certificate provided by AEAT was issued (e.g., 99999910G).
