In this article, you will learn how to submit customer data for invoices (DocumentType.Invoice) in Spain (with a Spanish fiscal client).
Requirements
- RetailForce client version 1.5.0 or higher
- Client with FiscalCountry.Spain
- Client is already initialized
Procedure
To submit an invoice in Spain the document type DocumentType.Invoice and the customer information is necessary.
There are 2 possible differences in the customer information:
- domestic customer
- foreign customer (EU + third country)
If the necessary mandatory fields are not available, then no invoice but only a document (DocumentType.Receipt) may be issued.
Note: With VERI*FACTU, the document type does not decide whether a full or a simplified invoice is transmitted. The total gross amount of the document decides:
- up to EUR 3,000: the document (DocumentType.Receipt or DocumentType.Invoice) is transmitted as a simplified invoice. Customer data that is sent is checked, but it is not transmitted.
- over EUR 3,000: the document is transmitted as a full invoice. The software refuses the document if no customer is sent, or if the customer has no TaxNumber (NIF). This also applies to foreign customers.
Spanish invoicing law must be considered separately from the VERI*FACTU module behaviour described above. Under Article 4 of Royal Decree 1619/2012, simplified invoices are generally permitted up to EUR 400 including VAT; the EUR 3,000 limit applies only to specified transactions, and certain transactions are excluded. Under Article 7(2) and (3), recipient identification and separately stated VAT are required when the recipient requests them to exercise tax rights.
